Nicole and Philip Steen came to Nashville in the early ’00s, before it was cool. Nicole arrived from New Jersey, and Philip trekked in from Ohio. Since those early days, they’ve been active in the small business community in Middle Tennessee.
Philip started Nashville Sports Leagues in 2002 and built a network that professionally manages seven recreational sports leagues with an estimated 25,000 players every year. Nicole ran behind-the-scenes technology for bars and restaurants but got a sweet tooth in 2011 when she started the Nashville Cake Pops brand. Over the next two years, Nicole sold over 15,000 cake pops! In 2013 she closed the bakery and joined Nashville Sports Leagues as the Director of Operations. They signed on their second investment property and created Urban Flip in 2016 to maintain their long-term rentals and continue supporting residents in the Greater Nashville Area.
We know what you’re thinking…
“Why did the Steens start Urban Flip vacation rentals?”
“Where do they find the time?”
The answer is simple: They needed a vacation just like you do!
The Steen’s went to the Panhandle in Northwest Florida and found their oasis. Almost anywhere you went, you’d catch glimpses of “Old Florida” all along Highway 98 and the famed Highway 30A. Neither of them could deny that the coastal views were incredible along Florida’s Emerald Coast.
Luckily for everyone, Nicole and Philip enjoyed these hideaway bays so rejuvenating that they expanded Urban Flip to short-term rentals on the Emerald Coast. Urban Flip will continue to invest in and serve guests and residents around the Southeast United States.
